Join
us on May 2nd in Atmore, AL at Tom Byrne Park for Mayfest 2009, a
community festival with a true, small town flavor.
Tom Byrne Park offers the perfect setting for this event which includes
arts and crafts, a Beautiful Baby Contest and much more. You’ll
want to bring a lawn chair and settle in for a full schedule of
professional and local entertainment on the Gazebo Stage. For the
children there is the Williams Station train ride, carnival and pony
rides and an old fashioned Go Fishing Booth. Or, come for lunch
and enjoy a variety of food offered by local and commercial vendors.
For the sports enthusiast, Mayfest 2009 offers a variety of activities
in which to participate or be a spectator.
Girls softball and Babe Ruth baseball tournaments will take place
in the sports complex surrounding the park.

Escambia
County Habitat for Humanity Bike Ride

Brewton to Atmore Bike Ride
To benefit: Escambia County Habitat for Humanity
The ride begins at Burnt Corn Creek Park, St.
Nicholas Street in Brewton, follows Hwy. 31 west 27 miles to the
Escambia County Satellite Office on the east side of Atmore. There, all
riders will gather as a group and ride an additional 2.5 miles to
Mayfest at Tom Byrne Park. The route is paved and relatively
flat, but does include rolling hills.
All participants who register before April 15 will receive a
t-shirt. If you register after April 15, we will provide t-shirts
as long as our supply lasts.
Trophies will be awarded to the top male and female finishers.
Registration: $50 if registration received by April 15, $60 if
registration received by April 30, $70 day of event.
If you would like to participate in the 2 1/2 mileFun
Ride starting at the Escambia County Satellite Office,
registration will be 10:00-11:00 a.m.the morning of the event.
Registration fee is $5.00.

Steve Gryb, the Pied Piper of Percussion, presents the Percussion
Petting Zoo! It's an interactive, hands-on, educational musical
exhibit that features percussion instruments from around the
world. This intriguing, stimulating, and unique exhibit appeals
to ALL AGES. Everyone is invited to play, learn, and interact
with the Pied Piper of Percussion!
