Join us on May 1st in Atmore, AL at Tom Byrne Park for Mayfest 2010, a community festival with a true, small town flavor. Tom Byrne Park offers the perfect setting for this event which includes arts and crafts, a Beautiful Baby Contest and much more. You’ll want to bring a lawn chair and settle in for a full schedule of professional and local entertainment on the Gazebo Stage. For the children there is a Fun Zone area that includes inflatable rides, a strolling magician, and much more. Or, come for lunch and enjoy a variety of food offered by local and commercial vendors.

For the sports enthusiast, Mayfest 2010 offers a variety of activities in which to participate or be a spectator. Girls softball and Babe Ruth baseball tournaments will take place in the sports complex surrounding the park.

"Friendly Doggies" and their owners are invited to take part in this new event immediatly after opening ceremonies. Other contests include Dog Best Costume and Owner Look-a-Like.

The event highlight is the crowning of "Miss Prissy Pup" and "Mr. Manly Mutt".

    Showcasing babies and toddlers ages 3 months through 3 years.
    Every participant receives a colorful Mayfest "Dancing Babies" t-shirt.
    Additional prizes are awarded to runner-ups and first place finishers in

* Regions Bank "Race for the Green" Push Mower Races
    Adults & kids will have a chance to show off their agility around a course.
    Prizes will be awarded for the top finishers!

* Exhibit & Judging of "United Bank's Rocking Chair Contest"
    37 rocking chairs each uniquely decorated by area elementary schools.
    Winners will be announced during Mayfest.
