Leadership

Chamber leadership programs prioritize creating spaces where diverse perspectives can come together to learn, grow, and push our community forward.

What is Leadership Atmore?

Leadership Atmore is an adult leadership development program designed to bring together individuals who live or work in Atmore and the surrounding communities. Through a series of interactive sessions, participants strengthen their leadership skills, build meaningful relationships, gain a deeper understanding of the community, and discover ways they can make a lasting impact.

The program exposes participants to a variety of industries and organizations that help shape Atmore, and explores topics such as economic development, community engagement, local government, education, healthcare, and business. Throughout the program, participants are encouraged to develop a greater sense of civic responsibility and find new ways to give back to the community.

The program runs annually from September through May. Applications open each summer, with participant selection completed before the start of the program. Program tuition is $650 and is due upon acceptance into the program. Scholarships are available, so we encourage anyone interested in participating to apply.

Whether you are an emerging leader, a longtime professional, or someone who wants to become more involved in the community, Leadership Atmore offers the opportunity to learn, grow, and make a difference.

What is Chamber Ambassadors?

The Atmore Area Chamber Ambassador Program is designed to develop leadership skills, professional readiness, and community awareness among high school students. This two-year program is open to rising juniors and seniors who demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership potential, and a commitment to the Atmore area.

Applicants must reside within ZIP codes 36502, 36562, 32568, or 32535 and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA throughout the program. Applications must be submitted to the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce by August 28 at 3:00 p.m.

After the application period closes, qualified applicants will be assigned an interview time. Interviews will be conducted at the Chamber office by a panel of community and business leaders. Following the interview process, the panel will select up to 12 students to participate in each class.

Selected students will be expected to actively participate in the program by attending monthly sessions, ribbon cuttings, Chamber events, and assisting with projects and activities at the Chamber office. Through these experiences, students will gain valuable leadership, communication, and professional development skills while building relationships with local business and community leaders.
